Resolution of a possible issue with Acrobat/Reader and FileOpen Client in Windows 11, version 24H2

Based on user feedback, the provider of FileOpen has identified an issue with Acrobat/Reader and FileOpen Client in the latest Windows 11 Update, 24H2 (available since early October 2024).

Acrobat/Reader fails to launch after installing the Windows 11 24H2 Update.

According to FileOpen experts, Microsoft appears to have made changes affecting Adobe's implementation.

Adobe Engineering is analyzing the issue and expects to fix it using its own update.

If needed, FileOpen will develop a new version of FileOpen Client based on Adobe's repair.

FileOpen has offered a temporary bypass solution to the issue.

Acrobat/Reader must run in compatibility mode for Windows 8.

Right-click the Acrobat/Reader icon and choose "Properties”. Click "Compatibility" and check the box to enable it to run in compatibility mode for Windows 8.

This solution is considered the easiest for individual end users. It can also be implemented for all users in a local business environment.

We expect that software providers will be able to deliver an official repair for this issue as soon as possible.
